Old Library Building
About the project
The McDonnell Street building on the corner of Kowai Grove and McDonnell Street was originally used in the early 2000s as the site office during the construction of the Ōmokoroa Wastewater Treatment Plant. The building was expanded and refitted as Council’s Ōmokoroa Service Centre and Library, opening in 2006.
The library and service centre were relocated to the new sports pavilion on Western Avenue Reserve and Council has leased the former building out. The Old Library, Omokoroa (TOLO) is a now volunteer-run, community-led project providing a place for creative display and social connection. View the website here.
