Active Reserve

About the project

A new active reserve has been proposed for the area off Ōmokoroa Road, located between Prole Road and the future re-alignment of Francis Road to Ōmokoroa Road. When complete, the reserve will provide for sports fields, clubrooms, an indoor stadium and possible aquatic centre. There will be a park and ride for those commuting off the peninsula and an underpass under Prole Road will connect the reserve and the new schools. It will also link up with the gully system and the peninsula-wide network of walk/cycleways.

What to expect next

• The speed of Ōmokoroa's growth will determine the timing of this project. Current expectation for starting development is around 10 years.
