My dog has been impounded
If your dog has been impounded, an Animal Services Officer will notify you of the fees you will need to pay before your dog will be released to you. These fees are reviewed yearly.
You will be directed to a Service Centre where you will be provided with payment release documents. You will need to bring these documents with you to the Animal Shelter in order for your dog to be released.
Our Animal Shelters are located in Te Puke and Katikati.
How is my dog released?
Once the paperwork has been provided, our Animal Shelter staff will invite you into the exchange area where your dog will be released to you. This will need to be arranged during our Animal Shelter's opening hours.
Arrangements can me made to collect your dog outside of these hours in extenuating circumstances.
