Paengaroa
Paengaroa is a rural settlement east of Te Puke at the eastern end of the Tauranga Eastern Link motorway.
Centred on dairy, dry stock and kiwifruit, the village area encompasses 2.27ha of commercial land where the global headquarters of the international natural health products company Comvita are located. The Comvita Visitor Centre, café and retail centre attracts more than 50,000 visitors and tourists a year and the company employs more than 160 full-time staff. Comvita has invested $11.7m in a warehouse which, from the road-side, resembles large, colourful beehives in recognition of the company's core bee products business.
