About the walk
1 hour 15 minutes return
This loop track meanders through the wetland for just over 6km. Signage at the car park has information about the Lower Kaituna Wildlife Management Reserve. The wetland has an abundant supply of waterfowl.
Two loop tracks and a viewing hide have been built to get close up and personal with the wetland.
Note: Hunters occupy the area for the hunting season, from the first weekend in May until the end of June.
Check with DOC before venturing out on this trip to ensure it is open.
