Waihī Beach Urban Cycle Trails
The proposed improved walkway/cycleway trails will provide useful and safe routes for pedestrians and cyclists to navigate the Waihī Beach community.
The five sections of walkway/cycleway trail proposed are:
- Brighton Reserve - Brighton Road to Hinemoa Road
- Island View Reserve - Broadway Road to The Loop
- Emerton Road from Hanlan Avenue to opposite Waihī Beach Airfield
- Emerton Road to Waiiti Avenue (part existing)
- Plom Road to Wakanoi Place

Brighton Reserve
There are several more detailed plans showing the proposed section through Brighton Road Reserve. (Please note that the final routes differ from the proposed route shown in the consent application and the Brighton Reserve Concept Plan).
Bay of Plenty Regional Council recently identified that they wish to publicly notify the Brighton Reserve section of the resource consent application. As the applicant, we are currently considering whether or not to proceed with the public notification process.
In the meantime, the Regional Council will resume processing the consent without the Brighton Reserve section.
