Katikati Resource Recovery Centre Trial
Katikati Resource Recovery Centre Trial information & hours:
Furniture, appliances, lawn mowers, old fridges, screws and bolts, and e-waste are just some of the items that will soon be accepted at the Katikati Recycling Centre as part of a resource recovery trial.
The trial is a collaboration between the Western Bay of Plenty District Council and Katikati based Chrome Collective Charitable Trust, that offers training, employment, and advocacy to people with disabilities, to integrate them into the wider community.
Please note that the site has a new vehicle and drop-off layout – Signs are in place.
These are the changes to the layout:
- If you only have recycling - Keep left to the new entry lane – Recycling drop-off is now ONLY available at the rear of the shed.
- If you have greenwaste - Use the right lane and STOP to pay for your greenwaste before going to the greenwaste drop-off pad.
- If you have reusable goods for the trial – use the right hand entry lane ONLY to drop off reusable goods.
Most items can be dropped off for free but, due to recycling costs, Chrome Collective will require a fee for some goods, for example $5 for a washing machine, $10 for a fridge and $15 for a computer monitor (Eftpos only).

Goods can be dropped off Thursdays & Saturdays from 9am - 4pm only at the Katikati Recycling Centre.
