Payment options

Water rate payments can be made online using:

• Credit Cards (which attracts a 1.22% fee)
• Debit Card (which may attract a 1.22% fee)
• Real Time Debit (Westpac and BNZ)

Online payment

Please note: Payments made after 10.30pm New Zealand time will appear on your Council rate account the following business day, so please allow plenty of time for processing your payment.

You can set up an automatic payment to pay your water rates, nominating the frequency and amount by completing the below authority for automatic payment form and taking into your bank.

You can set up a direct debit payment authority online, or by completing a direct debit form (PDF, 68KB).Please print out both pages, complete and post to Council's rates team, Private Bag 12803, Tauranga Mail Centre, Tauranga 3143.

Please note that your bank will not accept your direct debit form if you do not include both pages with original signatures. Please also make sure you send the completed two page form to Council first so our rates team can recognise payments from your bank. They will then forward the form directly to your bank.

Payment can be made in-person by paying by cash, EFTPOS or credit card at Council's customer services counter at our Barkes Corner head office or at any of Council's libraries and service centres at Katikati, Ōmokoroa, Te Puke or Waihī Beach.

Please note: Our bank charges a convenience fee of 1.22% per transaction for credit card transactions.

Please note: We are unable to accept credit card payment over the phone.

Transfer your water rates payment using internet banking direct from your bank account to Council. If you arrange internet banking yourself through your bank please remember to enter the following so we can process your payment to the correct rates account:

1st reference field: Surname of first owner

2nd reference field: Valuation number

3rd reference field: the word "Water".
