Service Connection Application
Apply for a service connection
A service connection application must be completed and an approval issued for all connections to Council-owned infrastructure.
Connections that require a service connection application include:
- Water Supply.
- Stormwater.
- Wastewater.
- Vehicle crossings (urban and rural).
- Install backflow prevention device.
If you are applying for connections at more than one property, please lodge a separate application for each.
Working Near or On Utilities
If you're planning to connect to our water service networks, here's what you need to know:
- Water Supply Network: Connections must be made by a contractor from our approved list. You can find this list on the relevant application form. This ensures that all work meets our standards and safety requirements. By submitting your application for a water supply connection, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted our Terms and Conditions.
- Stormwater and Wastewater Networks: Connections can typically be undertaken by a registered drainlayer. However, it's essential to ensure that the drainlayer is sufficiently qualified.
- Complete this application form if you're working near or on utilities.
- Our Hygiene Code of Practice outlines the recommend practice for hygiene procedures and disinfection of the water supply system.
- For more information on our service costs, please refer to our Schedule of Fees and Charges.
Before starting any work, please submit the relevant application form to obtain our approval. Also, please notify us who your chosen contractor will be.

Vehicle Crossings
A vehicle crossing is the section of driveway from the front of the property boundary to the roadway.
All vehicle crossings must be approved by Council and inspected by our staff throughout construction. This includes vehicle crossings for new builds, adding a new crossing to an existing site, or rebuilding an existing vehicle crossing.
What's the difference between urban and rural?
The difference in applications is speed. When evaluating a rural vehicle crossing we must consider the speed zone and the viability of the road users. So, choose urban if the road is more than 60km/h. Rural, if not.
