Notice of Intention to Stop Unformed Section of Burd Road, Oropi

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO STOP UNFORMED SECTION OF BURD ROAD OROPI

Notice is hereby given that pursuant to Section 342(1)(a) and the Tenth Schedule of the Local Government Act 1974, the Western Bay of Plenty District Council proposed to stop the unformed section of Burd Road, Oropi, Tauranga as described in the schedule of this notice to facilitate a land exchange with adjoining landowners to acquire land for recreation reserve.

South Auckland Land District

11.3977 hectares more or less defined as Section 4 on Survey Office Plan 564348 adjoining Lot 11 Deposited Plan South Auckland 52167 and Lot 2 and 5 deposited Plan 312067 and Section 1 Survey Office Plan 321036, Lot 14 Deposited Plan 536785 and Lots 3, 5 and 12 Deposited Plan 520921 and Lots 4-5 Deposited Plan 358055 and Lot 1 Deposited Plan 441546 and Part Lot 2 Deposited Plan South 84919 and Lot 4 Deposited Plan South Auckland 52167 and Lot 1 Deposited Plan 545804.

The road when stopped will be transferred to the adjoining landowner and amalgamated into Record of Title 927842.

Explanatory Note: The stopping will not affect traffic and will facilitate a land exchange with the adjoining landowner of land to vest land as Recreation Reserve to provide legal and physical access from McPhail Road for the public to the Waimapu Stream in exchange for unformed road.

A copy of the Survey Office Plan 564348 being the plan of survey showing the road to be stopped is available for inspection at the office of the Western Bay of Plenty District Council, 1484 Cameron Road, or by emailing Wendy.O’Neill@westernbay.govt.nz.

Any person wishing to object to this proposed road stopping must lodge their objection in writing with the Western Bay of Plenty District Council, Private Bag 12803, Tauranga Mail Centre, Tauranga 3143 on or before the 5th May 2025.
