Waihī Beach
Mainly Music Waihī Beach
Friday: 9.30 to 11.30am - Parents and children from newborn to 5 years old
Mainly Music provides a time and place where young children and their carers find delight in shared experiences through music and play, are accepted for who they are, and grow educationally.
Mainly Music recognises the importance of attachment theory, which contributes to children’s security and well-being. Each session provides education and development outcomes, an opportunity for children to enjoy an enhanced attachment experience with their family, and for carers to receive parenting tuition by example.
There is a strong sense of ‘it takes a village to raise a child’. With guidance by volunteers from local churches, families are given the chance to think about the God-part of life in a loving, sharing environment that welcomes everyone.

Over 50s cycling group
Out and about...
It's not all about the coffee - but that is an attraction!
Most Tuesday and Saturday mornings you'll find us out on our bikes, taking in the fresh air, sights, sounds and smells of the countryside.
As you can tell from our group's name, our members are mostly the type of people who like their exercise fairly gentle, mixed with a good blend of social interaction too. Outings normally feature a stop at a cafe.
The current schedule is on the calendar - click this link -> Waihi 50+ Cycle Group calendar of rides - Waihi 50+ Cycle Group (weebly.com) - and the rides for the current week usually appear in each week's edition of a local newspaper.
A Friends Place
Social groups for older people. A place to go to talk things over, learn new skills, swap ideas and swap some stories. A time to help friends out, whilst having some fun and enjoying good company.
A FRIENDS PLACE (social groups for older people) continues to make a real difference to people’s lives at Waihi Beach and the surrounding areas. The social programme is now in its sixth year and has proven to be a place that older people can depend on to have some fun, stay connected with people of their own age and stay socially included within the community.
During a typical four day week there are over 100 people, ‘Friends’, involved at A FRIENDS PLACE (social groups for older people), including organiser Trudy and eight or more volunteers who help out with the activities, the transport and kitchen duties. The Waihi Beach Community Centre provides a great venue that is light, warm, safe and spacious.

Winter Wander Walk
Bring your furry friends to the Winter Wander Walk in Te Puke on 2 September. Learn from dog expert Betty and enjoy a walk on the Te Ara Kahikatea Pathway.
This is an extension of our summer series, but if you're new here, here's everything you need to know:
You can join us and our Animal Services team for a free, group dog walk to explore our District and get to know your neighbours and other pups.
All you need to bring is a leash.
We always start a bit early so that if anyone has questions about dog behaviours, hacks and tips, they can ask our dog expert, Betty.
So if you want to skip the questions, we'll start the walk at 10am.
Meet at Jubilee Park, Commerce Lane, Te Puke
