Pawsome dog walk in Te Puke
Hey dog lovers - don’t let the chilly mornings stop you from getting out for a wander!
Bundle up warm and bring your pooch along for a fun walk on Saturday 2 September, meeting at Jubilee Park in Te Puke, from 9.30am.
Western Bay of Plenty Animal Services Team Leader Peter Hrstich is encouraging the canine community of every shape and size to join in the fun.
“We all know dogs still need exercise and socialisation during winter, so we decided to put on a couple of walks in the colder months as a prelude to our popular Wander Dogs Summer Series.
“The Katikati walk a few weeks back had a great turnout, so it shows people are still keen to get out, even if it is a bit chilly.
“Our walks also feature an education component, where our dog expert Betty will be on hand to answer all your dog-related questions before the walk. So make sure you give her a yell if there’s something you want her advice on,” says Peter.
The date of the walk marks the start of national Welcoming Week – an opportunity to roll out the welcome mat with initiatives that connect everyone, celebrating our diverse population and welcoming newcomers to our District.
“We’d love to see lots of new faces joining us for the walk, so if you’re new to the area, come along and see what we’re all about!
“It’s also a great chance to get outdoors in the fresh air with your furry bestie and explore a part of Te Puke you might not have before.”
