The time has come for Fairhaven Park to get its new playground!
Work will be starting tomorrow, Thursday, 14 September, to remove the old playground, and the new playground will be ready for action on Monday, 25 September. The surrounding park area is still able to be used during this time.
The playground at Fairhaven Park has been enjoyed by hundreds of children over the past 20 years, but is now at the end of its life.
Included in the new playground design are two slides, a fire pole, stepping pods, ring swings, bubble climber and a steel rock wall, as well as separate spinning equipment - ensuring all age groups can enjoy the space. The three bay swing will remain in place.
The footprint for the new playground is the same, so the park will still be able to accommodate junior soccer games, toilet facilities and a BBQ.
Funding for this project has been secured through Council's asset renewal programme.
