Existing Katikati Library building - expressions of interest
Council is seeking expressions of interest from groups interested in being accommodated within the existing library building.
Western Bay of Plenty District Council Strategic Property Manager Blaise Williams says interest in the building has been expressed from a number of community organisations since the new library was initially planned.
We're expecting strong interest from the community for this opportunity. This is a great chance for community-based groups to have a home in the heart of Katikati.''
Blaise says small commercial enterprises are welcome - as well as not for profit groups - as long as applicants have a strong community focus.
The 526 square meter building and land will continue to be managed by Council. Existing tenants - the Visitor Information Centre and Katch Katikati - will remain located in the building.
Applications will be evaluated by the Katikati Community Board, who will make a recommendation to Council.
Part of the evaluation may include not only an assessment of the expressions of interest, but also perhaps an interview with the evaluation team to clarify any points raised during the evaluation.
