Emergency water shutdown for all of Omokoroa

UPDATED 4.25PM: Full water pressure should return to Omokoroa in the next 30 minutes, by 5pm.
Earlier - Emergency repairs to a major water main rupture on Omokoroa Road have required an emergency water shutdown for all of Omokoroa today.
The shutdown is expected to last until about 4.30pm.
Western Bay of Plenty District Council reports that a thrusting company hit a major water main shortly after 12pm today, affecting water supply to all properties on the peninsula.
Council contractors are currently working to resolve the issue.
It's not clear how long the repair will take, however residents are advised to plan for water to be unavailable until about 4.30pm this afternoon.
