Good Friday kerbside collections delayed a day
If your bin day is normally a Friday listen up, change is coming your way over the Easter weekend.
All Western Bay of Plenty District Council kerbside collections that would normally take place on Good Friday 7 April, will take place on Easter Saturday, 8 April instead.
This includes properties in part of Te Puke, Maketu, Paengaroa, Pongakawa and Pukehina, and applies to all collections - landfill, mixed recycling, glass and food scraps. Double check which bins to put out at kerbsidecollective.co.nz/collection-day/
Solid Waste Contract Manager, Tony Wilson says that we need to change the day of collection, but the service will be much the same.
“All of our collections will take place like normal, just a day later. We’re lucky that Good Friday is the only time this year we need to shift the collection day.
“We hope this doesn’t cause too much disturbance to your weekly routine, and that you’ll join us in embracing this change so our kerbside drivers can spend Good Friday with their families.
“If you see a neighbour putting out their bins for collection on the wrong day over the Easter period, please let them know about the changes.’’
If you need an extra little reminder of the change closer to the time, sign up for our free kerbside collection reminder service, at westernbay.govt.nz/antenno
Recycling centres, library and service centres
Our libraries and service centres will be closed Easter weekend - Friday 7 April to Monday 10 April. You can still return any library books using the after-hours return slots.
The team will be back as usual on Tuesday 11 April.
For anything urgent, please get in touch with us 24/7 on 0800 926 732.
Or for non-urgent enquires you can send an email to info@westernbay.govt.nz, complete our online contact form or submit an Antenno report. These will be responded to on the next business day.
This year, all of our recycling centres will continue to open on their normal days, with no added openings. Check their opening hours at westernbay.govt.nz/recycling-centres
We wish everyone in the Western Bay a very happy Easter.
