Hurry Western Bay community groups! Time is running out to apply for a share of $160k for your community project.
Applications for Western Bay of Plenty District Council’s Community Matching Fund close on Wednesday 31 May.
The Community Matching Fund has $160,000 up for grabs, which includes $60,000 for environmental projects and $100,000 for general projects that make a positive difference for the Western Bay community. The only catch - groups will need to ‘match’ the cash grant they’re seeking from Council– be it in volunteer hours, cash, or in-kind contributions.
Council’s Community and Strategic Relationships Manager Jodie Rickard is urging community groups to get their applications in soon to avoid missing out.
“Last week we held some info sessions across the District to help groups with their applications and provide some additional assistance. It was great to kōrero with some of our amazing community coordinators about their projects and how we can help.
“These are projects that provide fantastic benefit to the community. So whether yours is a general, environmental, or recreational project, we’re keen to hear about it.
“It’s such an awesome opportunity for some extra funding to get community projects across the line and help groups to achieve their goals,” says Jodie.
