Want to be one of the first to try out the new spinning carousel climber at Hayward Park playground in Te Puke? Now is your opportunity.
The Hayward Park playground has been upgraded by Western Bay of Plenty District Council and is now open, ready for a busy Christmas and summer ahead.
The new and improved playground features a new slide, tunnel, number spinners and a spinning carousel climber that promises to entertain local tamariki.
Council’s Reserves and Facilities Manager, Peter Watson says it’s a delight to bring the tamariki of Te Puke a safe new playground in time for the summer holidays.
“Hayward Park playground is a real neighbourhood favourite, so we’re really pleased we can open it in time for the holidays and help local whānau create new memories.
“The team have done a great job installing the new equipment. It looks great and we can’t wait to see all the whānau in the neighbourhood giving it a go.”
The Hayward Park playground is located between Atuaroa Ave and Milsom Place in Te Puke. It’s handy to people using the Hayward Park skate bowl, Te Puke Sports Club grounds and nearby Centennial Park.
The playground refresh is part of Council’s standard schedule for replacing older equipment across the rohe. The park fence and concrete paths were also replaced.
