Barkes Corner Reception area under construction
Council has kicked off an upgrade to its reception area at the Barkes Corner head office.
When the office reopens in Alert Level 2 on Wednesday 8 September, the public can access Council at the same address, but via a new temporary reception just 50 metres away.
The upgrade will provide an improved customer reception area where it is easier for customers and visitors to interact with us.
Jan Pedersen, Group Manager People and Customer Services says, “This upgrade is part of an existing refurbishment programme to improve the reception area for our customers and our Council team, increasing the flow and making the offices lighter and more modern.”
Where to go when visiting Council
During the 6-8 weeks of construction all visitors will be redirected to the temporary reception with signage installed on Wednesday 8 September.
Customers will need to walk through the carpark, following the path clearly marked. The temporary reception is located in one of Council’s existing office buildings toward the back of the site, and on your left as you drive up the driveway.
Public car parking will also move to be located in the immediate parking area in front when driving up the drive way from 1484 Cameron Road.
Jan says, “We know this will cause some disruption, and thank you in advance for your patience.
“If you’re unsure where to go, you’re welcome to call ahead and talk to one of our customer services representatives.”
