Allan Sole sworn in as new councillor
Allan Sole is officially a Western Bay of Plenty District Councillor.
Allan was officially sworn in as Katikati-Waihi Beach Ward Councillor at today’s extraordinary Western Bay of Plenty District Council meeting.
The swearing in returns Council back to a full complement of councillors, with Allan filling the one vacant seat following Katikati-Waihi Beach Ward Councillor Christina Humphreys’ resignation in January.
Allan, in the recent by-election, received 693 votes, ahead of candidates Rodney Joyce who received 643 and David Marshall with 595.
“I have always been proud of the Western Bay of Plenty District Council and appreciate the opportunity to serve the people of this District.
“I promise I will work hard in this position. I want us to continue to be a really well run Council,” says Allan.
Western Bay Mayor Garry Webber says in Allan there is a safe pair of hands having served as Waihi Beach Community Board Chairperson for the last two terms, six years in total.
“During his time on the Waihi Beach Community Board Allan was an incredibly diligent chairperson and so he knows the decisions Council has made to get to where we are today.
“It is with pleasure we welcome Allan back on to the council team, but this time as a councillor.”
