Planned power outages for Maketu and Little Waihi

Monday 24 August planned power outages

There is a planned power outage on Monday 24 August from 9am to 3pm for properties on Lyndhurt Avenue, Bledisloe Park Avenue and Pipi Lane.

What's happening?

Powerco (and contractor Northpower) is undertaking work to replace pole cross arms and conductors on overhead lines around Maketu and Little Waihi. The work being done helps ensure the power supply in the area is safe and reliable.

The work starts in August, and should be completed by February.

What it means for you

There will be a series of planned outages while the work takes place to allow contractors to conduct this work safely.

If you are impacted by planned outages, in advance you will be notified by your retailer (the company you pay your power bill to) or by Northpower.

Traffic management will be in place when required.

Area of works

The area where maintenance is taking place is highlighted in blue in the image above. Planned outages will also impact areas outside highlighted zones, due to turning off supply in sections to make lines safe to work on.
