Thirty more car parks for Te Puke
Te Puke has 30 more public car parks thanks to an agreement between Western Bay of Plenty District Council and the New World supermarket.
The parks have been allocated on the Commerce Lane frontage of the supermarket carpark, giving ease of access to the walkway into the main street and to businesses along Commerce Lane.
The availability of the parking spaces for general public use is part of an original agreement between Council and the supermarket. The allocated public parks will be available for 90-minute parking and each park will be identified by markings on the kerb.
Council's Property Manager Blaise Williams says Council is grateful to New World Manager John Gray for making these spaces available.
"This gives people more parking options and also enables people using the businesses in Commerce Lane greater access to parking. It is great to have this option in the supermarket carpark.''
