Team building workshop for Western Bay teens
Western Bay teenagers are challenged to join a weekend of team building, problem solving and sharing new ideas at Mashup on 9 and 10 June.
The weekend at Basestation in Durham Street Tauranga is part of the digital enablement programme run by the Tauranga Venture Centre in partnership with Western Bay of Plenty District Council and Tauranga City Council and with sponsorship by Bay of Plenty Regional Council.
Designed to be thought provoking, challenging and fun, Mashup involves teams of four from Year 10 to Year 13, working with a mentor, to solve problems relevant to them and the Bay of Plenty.
Over the course the weekend the teams pitch to a panel of judges for a chance to win cash. Mashup is all about team building, developing new ideas, and exploring limits.
Venture Centre founder Pascale Hyboud-Peron says Mashup provides an intense and fast-paced environment so that participants learn to work together effectively and efficiently.
The outcomes of the weekend are personal growth, awareness of the community and environment and improved problem solving skills.
