Introducing a new puppy to your other dogs
When bringing a new dog into a home with existing pets, you need to cater to both your animal's needs.
Our tips for first introductions:
• Research: Talk to the breeders/ foster carers about what the puppy is like with other dogs.
• Take it slow: When your puppy first arrives, separate them from other animals to settle them in.
• Introduce them in neutral territory: A neutral area can be a park or outside your home. Let them investigate each other without any tensions.
• Supervise them: Until you're comfortable that you can leave them unsupervised without any worry.
It may take time for everyone to adjust - be patient with the process.
