A resource consent allows you to carry out an activity that has an effect on the environment - for example noise, amenity, building bulk and location.
The Western Bay of Plenty District Council issues two types of resource consent which cover land use and subdivisions to meet the provisions of the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA). The purpose of the Act is to encourage sustainable management of natural and physical resources.
