What communities are doing

A number of communities and groups have already started to plan for the coming changes to the climate. Some great examples of this in the Western Bay of Plenty District are the Maketu Iwi Collective’s Maketu Climate Plan, and the Waihi Beach Surf Lifesaving Club’s Adaptation Plan, both of which were developed with the support of funding from the Bay of Plenty Regional Council Adaptation Planning Fund.

There are also a number of environmental care groups in the Western Bay of Plenty District taking local level action on climate change.
