A small section of Te Puna Station Road will be closed from next week (9 October) so a slip can be repaired.
Western Bay of Plenty District Council will close a portion of the road, near the intersection with Te Puna Road, with works expected to take around a month.
During the cyclones earlier this year part of the cliff below the road slipped causing an unstable area of land which affected part of the road.
This has led to a lane closure at the site over recent months. The works will comprise the removal of the unstable land and installing a retaining structure to make the road safe for double lanes again.
Property owners will still be able to access their homes via Clarke Road. Traffic will just not be able to drive the full length of Te Puna Station Road.
